Sony Screen Gems was planning on playing a new game with audiences last December: kill or be killed. They had originally planned to release Sean Carter’s Keep Watching (formerly Home Invasion) for release in theaters on December 2, 2016, only it never arrived.
The film follows family imprisoned by intruders must play a terrifying life-and-death game in which the mysterious rules become clear as the night unfolds.
Bella Thorne must be cursed because she not only stars in this shelved movie but also the long-delayed Amityville: The Awakening and The Babysitter. The race is now on to see which movie gets released first. A trailer appearing this morning for Keep Watching is a good sign, especially with “The Walking Dead” returning this fall. Why? This slasher also stars “The Walking Dead” favorite Chandler Riggs, with Natalie Martinez (“Kingdom”), Saw and Insidious‘ Leigh Whannell, and Ioan Gruffudd (The Fantastic Four). Sales agency Voltage Pictures released the trailer, which could also mean they’re looking for a new home. Ouch.
“A family imprisoned by intruders is forced to play a terrifying game of “Kill, Or Be Killed”. As the night unfolds, the game’s mysterious rules become clear, and the family realizes their nightmare is being streamed live to riveted viewers all over the world, who are compelled to keep watching…not knowing if what they’re seeing is real, or staged.”
Alex Heineman, Andrew Rona, Nicholas Chartier, and Craig J. Flores produce the film penned by Joseph Dembner.
