Red Band ‘Better Watch Out’ Trailer Gives the Gift of Gore!

Well Go USA has just shared an outstanding red band trailer for Chris Peckover’s ridiculously fun holiday horror Better Watch Out, which will be releasing in theaters and On Demand October 6, 2017. The trailer is completely spoiler free and unwraps the gift of laughs and gore, promising one helluva hilariously bloody slasher. The best is it’s releasing before Halloween and Christmas, which means you can view it over and over through the holidays.

Described as Home Alone meets Scream, Trace reviewed the film out of the Fantastic Fest premiere, calling it “a hilariously bonkers home invasion tale.”

“Better Watch Out provides a bonkers twist on the home invasion sub-genre that had me squealing with glee from start to finish.”

Set in a quiet American suburb on a snowy evening on the lead up to Christmas, Ashley (Olivia DeJonge), the regular babysitter for Deandra (Virginia Madsen) and Robert Lerner (Patrick Warburton), has to defend their twelve-year-old son (Levi Miller) from strangers breaking into the house – only to discover that this is far from a normal home invasion.

The thriller is a Storm Vision Entertainment and Best Medicine production, directed by Chris Peckover (Undocumented) and written by Zack Kahn and Peckover.

Same three! I always end up remembering stuff from the trailers unless I watch the film much much later.

This looks much better than that “Red Christmas” slop. I might check this out- look like a blast and doesn’t seem it’ll skimp on the good stuff. The humor also look hilarious and the lead boy is a cutie.

  • Melina Chastain

Caught this at Telluride Horror Show last October. It’s a lot of fun! Lots of moments I did not see coming.

  • Kyle Cole

Doesn’t look bad, even though the trailer gives away the films real villain

  • The Fucked Up

Squeeling with glee? Video or it didn’t happen

  • Matt Miller

It looks great, but I think it does reveal the twist of the film.

so why is he into the girl when hes camp as hell

I’ll be honest, I’m kind of disappointed in the comedy angle. It’ll probably still be great, but it seems like too many horror films are afraid to play a concept like this in a serious way. Kind of tired of the self-aware humor in everything.
