First ‘Jigsaw’ Clip Begins a New Game That Will End in Bloodshed

Published

on

Lionsgate’s first official clip from Jigsaw, in theaters October 27th, appears to set the stage for the eighth SAW film. Several people awaken with buckets on their heads and chains around their neck. Jigsaw (Tobin Bell) introduces the “game” and then pulls the proverbial lever that begins to pull them to a wall that’s covered in saws. How perfect.

After a series of murders bearing all the markings of the Jigsaw killer, law enforcement find themselves chasing the ghost of a man dead for over a decade and embroiled in a new game that’s only just begun. Is John Kramer back from the dead to remind the world to be grateful for the gift of life? Or is this a trap set by a killer with designs of their own?

The new chapter has been rated “R” for “Grisly Bloody Violence and Torture.”

We understand that neither Costas Mandylor nor Cary Elwes will be returning to play their respective characters, who both ended up becoming Jigsaw apprentices in earlier installments. As for the original Jigsaw himself, Tobin Bell will be back in some capacity.

The cast also includes Mandela Van Peebles, Laura Vandervoort, Brittany Allen, Callum Keith Rennie, Matt Passmore, Hannah Emily Anderson, Josiah Black, Shaquan Lewis, Michael Bolsvert, and James Gomez.

Jigsaw was written by Josh Stolberg and Pete Goldfinger (Piranha 3D and Sorority Row). In the director’s chairs were the Spierig brothersPeter and Michael, who brought us Daybreakers and Predestination.
