Bradley Whitford, Toby Kebbell and Scoot McNairy Join Karyn Kusama’s ‘Destroyer’

The first person cast in The Invitation director Karyn Kusama‘s next, crime thriller Destroyer, was Nicole Kidman, who was subsequently joined by Tatiana Maslany and Sebastian Stan.

The cast gets even more impressive today, as Bradley Whitford, Toby Kebbell and Scoot McNairy have signed on.

Filming will begin next week.

In the LA-set thriller…

“Destroyer follows the moral and existential odyssey of LAPD detective Erin Bell who, as a young cop, was placed undercover with a cult-like gang in the California desert with tragic results. When the leader of that gang re-emerges many years later, she must work her way back through the remaining members and into her own history with them to finally reckon with the demons that destroyed her past.”

The Invitation scribes Phil Hay and Matt Manfredi wrote the script.

Fred Berger (La La Land) of Automatik is producing alongside Hay and Manfredi.

I really liked ‘The Invitation’, nice slow burn and the creep factor was placed nicely throughout.

Yes! The invitation was a great little flick. Creepy, headgames, and the violent parts came out of nowhere. Looking forward to this. Scoot McNairy is kind of an ace in the hole as well.

“The Invitation” was one of my favorite films of 2015. I’m definitely in for this.

He’s still the prick from Revenge of the Nerds 2 to me.

So many movies would be better with male lead instead of female. Sicario (Blunt was fine but make it a idealistic, less inept rookie FBI male agent and its better movie), A Lonely Place To Die (badass instead of Melissa George and we have a cult classic) just of top of my head. This one sounds exactly the same. Place male cop instead female cop and we have a winner.
