Has ‘Bride of Frankenstein’ Been Resurrected?

Published

on

The Bride - Universal Classic Monsters

Three months ago, Universal shut down production on Bride of Frankenstein, which was to be directed by Bill Condon.

Javier Bardem had been in talks to play Frankenstein’s Monster with Angelina Jolie in discussion to play his reanimated, reluctant mate. At the time, it was reported that the film went back to the lab to do some more work on the script.

Things got even worse when writer-producers Alex Kurtzman and Chris Morgan, who were hired as Universal’s “Dark Universe” architects, departed the franchise. This didn’t mean an end to their planned universe, but a retooling.

Now, Omega Underground is reporting that Universal has finally found a new crew to help resurrect Bride of Frankenstein, the second “Monster” film that follows Tom Cruise‘s The Mummy.

The crew includes cinematographer Tobias A. Schliessler (Lone Survivor, Beauty and The Beast, A Wrinkle In Time), production designer Sarah Greenwood (Darkest Hour, Beauty and The Beast, Atonement, Sherlock Holmes), composer Carter Burwell (Carol, Fargo, True Grit, No Country For Old Men, Three Billboards), and costume designer Jacqueline Durran (Beauty and The Beast, Atonement, Darkest Hour).

This is all exciting, although it doesn’t tell us who is producing. We are still in the dark in regards to direction of the film, as well as the universe. Will Cruise return? Is Jolie still in talks or would they move on to someone like Wonder Woman‘s  Gal Gadot, who was allegedly targeted by Universal execs?

We’ll keep you posted as things begin to develop.

As someone who is obsessed with UFOS (or more recently known as UAPs) and the concept of extraterrestrials, I love a good documentary. Sightings have been on the rise since the 1940s, with the atomic bomb seemingly acting as a catalyst for new visitors. But what are these UFOs/UAPs? Is there an explanation or are they simply beyond our explanation? Why are they here? Who are they? How much do our governments know? The questions are endless and so are the documentaries that attempt to uncover the secrets behind decades of sightings and alleged confrontations.

Whether you’re a seasoned viewer or new to the rabbit hole, there’s always a handful of interesting documentaries to get your neurons firing and leave you with sleepless nights.
