Fan’s Kid/Adult Losers’ Club Mashup Photos Highlight Perfect ‘IT: Chapter 2’ Casting

Published

There’s a whole lot riding on Andy Muschietti’s IT: Chapter 2, as the sequel will essentially be competing against the massive box office success and critical acclaim of the 2017 film that introduced us to Muschietti’s vision for Stephen King’s iconic novel. In other words, expectations are sky high, so the pressure is on in a big way.

Filming has begun on IT: Chapter 2, and one thing we can be pretty sure of at this time is that Muschietti nailed the casting for the adult versions of the Losers’ Club kids. Not only were some great actors cast in the roles, but many of the adult actors look dead-on like their young counterparts, which should make it very easy to believe they’re truly the kids all grown up.

Fan Shaun Watson blends kid and adult together for the fun mashups below, which really highlight how good of a job the entire casting department did on this one…

Because every 27 years evil revisits the town of Derry, Maine, IT: Chapter 2 brings the characters—who’ve long since gone their separate ways—back together as adults, nearly three decades after the events of the first film. Bill Skarsgård returns in the seminal role of Pennywise. James McAvoy (“Split,” upcoming “Glass”) stars as Bill, Oscar nominee Jessica Chastain (“Zero Dark Thirty,” “Mama”) as Beverly, Bill Hader (HBO’s “Barry,” “The Skeleton Twins”) as Richie, Isaiah Mustafa (TV’s “Shadowhunters: The Mortal Instruments”) as Mike, Jay Ryan (TV’s “Mary Kills People”) as Ben, James Ransone (HBO’s “The Wire”) as Eddie, and Andy Bean (“Allegiant,” Starz’ “Power”) as Stanley.

Reprising their roles as the original members of the Losers Club are Jaeden Lieberher as Bill, Wyatt Oleff as Stanley, Sophia Lillis as Beverly, Finn Wolfhard as Richie, Jeremy Ray Taylor as Ben, Chosen Jacobs as Mike, and Jack Dylan Grazer as Eddie.

Muschietti directs from a screenplay by Gary Dauberman (“IT,” “Annabelle: Creation”) based on the novel by Stephen King. Barbara Muschietti, Dan Lin and Roy Lee are producing the film. Marty Ewing, Seth Grahame-Smith and David Katzenberg are the executive producers.

Pennywise will return to theaters on September 6, 2019.

Sydney Sweeney horror

After making an impressive $21 million at the worldwide box office, NEON’s new horror movie Immaculate starring Sydney Sweeney has surprise-released at home this week.

Beginning today, Immaculate is now available for digital purchase ($19.99) and rental ($9.99)! We’ve also learned that the film is coming to Blu-ray and DVD on June 11, 2024.

The home release comes on the heels of Immaculate’s massive success at the United States box office, quickly becoming an audience favorite, grossing over $15.2mm and counting, and remaining in the U.S. box office top 10 for three weeks. The Blu-ray and DVD will feature a commentary track from director Michael Mohan, NEON has let us know this morning.

The horror film reunites Sydney Sweeney with director Michael Mohan (The Voyeurs), who directed from a script by Andrew LobelSweeney stars in Immaculate as Cecilia, a woman of devout faith who is offered a fulfilling new role at an illustrious Italian convent.

“Her warm welcome to the picture-perfect Italian countryside is soon interrupted as it becomes clearer to Cecilia that her new home harbors some dark and horrifying secrets.”

Meagan Navarro wrote in her review for Bloody Disgusting, “Sydney Sweeney is this familiar religious horror movie’s saving grace. Sister Cecilia is a doe-eyed innocent whose unlikely circumstances force her into a tremendously satisfying arc. She attempts to outmaneuver a powerful foe, and when things really go off the rails, Sweeney plunges headfirst into a primal ferocity that leads to one bold, crowd-cheering conclusion.”
