We horror fans sure do love our villains. We can discuss, debate, and sometimes argue endlessly over the best Freddy kill, the most memorable Jason death, or which quip of Chucky’s is the funniest. Behind those villains are actors who have become just as iconic and beloved by the community for all that they have brought to the genre. We cherish Robert Englund, Kane Hodder, Brad Dourif, and the like because it was their charisma and personality that made their respective characters so unique.
It’s the same with Tony Todd, the man who brought life to Clive Barker’s Candyman and gave Death a sinister voice in the Final Destination films. His tall, brooding appearance is complimented by his theatrical presentations, each just as memorable as any other. He’s earned his place as a horror icon and I know how many of you appreciate seeing him in action.
That’s why we’re so excited to bring you an exclusive teaser of Cadabra Records’, in arrangement with Bleak December Inc., upcoming vinyl release of Bram Stoker’s ‘Dracula’, which features Todd as the titular character! He brings a sinister yet hypnotic presentation, his gravelly voice perfectly representing the age and mystery of the infamous vampire. The abridged version of the classic vampire novel will be released on a limited pressing of 500 copies with pre-orders going up tomorrow.
Todd explains, “….I’m so proud to lend my voicings to Bram Stoker’s Dracula. “I walk among men…” I wish to add to Lugosi’s legacy. Stay tuned…”
Todd joins a stellar cast that also includes Anthony D.P. Mann (Sherlock Holmes and the Shadow Watchers, Terror of Dracula). You can see the full cast list below.
