[Exclusive] Stream/Download “Systematic Guillotine” From Dawn Of Ashes

Bloody-Disgusting has teamed up with Dawn Of Ashes to bring you an exclusive stream/download of their track “Systematic Guillotine”, which comes from their new album Anathema (out via Metropolis Records).

The title track “Systematic Guillotine” is based on my nasty ego, my misanthropic hatred towards humanity, & the generalization of how I fulfill my confidence with everything that makes me rebel against normal society. In my mind, I create a human holocaust where my thoughts create visions of pain / suffering & then transforms my ego (self pride) into a vicious persona who doesn’t show emotions for what people have to say or how they view me.” -Kristof

Dawn Of Ashes will be touring with Psyclon Nine in late summer/early fall. Head on below for the tour dates and to download “Systematic Guillotine”. READ MORE

Lose An Arm Over The Bunny The Bear’s Video For “In Like Flynn”

The Bunny The Bear have released an official video for “In Like Flynn”, which comes from the band’s third studio album Stories. The video is loosely based upon Shel Silverstein’s classic story “The Giving Tree”. However, this video takes things to a slightly more gruesome place and…well, let’s just say that this girl won’t be giving hugs anytime soon. Check it out below. READ MORE

Megadeth Stream New Single “Super Collider”

Thrash metal legends Megadeth have released a stream of “Super Collider”, the title track to their upcoming album that comes out June 4th. The song can be purchased on iTunes here. Super Collider is the followup to 2011′s Thirteen. You can listen to the song below.

Having listened to Megadeth for several years, I can safely say that this is a truly awful song. It’s entirely boring and does nothing to get the blood pumping. It feels safe, which is something Megadeth never was. READ MORE

[Random Cool] Check Out This Amazing Print Of ‘The Devil And Robert Johnson’

Art isn’t something that I really get to showcase much here on BD Music. So when I stumbled across an amazing rendition of The Devil And Robert Johnson, I had to share it with you. The tale goes something like this: Robert Johnson, who aspired to become a blues musician, was told to take a guitar to the a crossroad near Dockery Plantation at midnight. The Devil then appeared and a deal was struck in which Johnson was given the abilities and mastery of the guitar. The story is fairly well known and oft-parodied, such as in Metalocalypse and by Tenacious D.

The glorious piece of art was done by Nicola Verlato and a signed print can be purchased here. Head on below to see it. READ MORE

Orphaned Land Release Album Artwork And Track Listing For ‘All Is One’

Israeli metal band Orphaned Land has released the album artwork and track listing for their upcoming album All Is One, which comes out June 25th in N. America via Century Media Records. The artwork, which was done by French artist Metastazis (Paradise Lost, As I Lay Dying) incorporates the three biggest religious symbols into one piece of art (I foresee more than a few tattoos coming from this). All Is One is the followup to 2010′s The Never Ending Way Of ORwarriOR. You can see the artwork and track listing below. READ MORE

The Dillinger Escape Plan Release Bloody, Violent Video For “When I Lost My Bet”

Prog/jazz fusion metal band The Dillinger Escape Plan have released a fantastic music video for “When I Lost My Bet”, which comes from the band’s upcoming album One Of Us Is The Killer (out May 14th via Sumerian Records). The highly stylized, chaotic, frenzied video is full of blood and gore and is what I would imagine Jan Švankmajer’s films would look like were he a bit more macabre. While I’m not a fan of the band, I was definitely hooked by the video and highly recommend giving it a watch below.

TDEP is currently on tour with The Faceless and Royal Thunder. All tour dates are below. READ MORE

Free Download: Aliases Premiere Video For “Exasperated”

UK tech metal band Aliases have released a music video for their new track “Exasperated”, which comes from the band’s upcoming debut album (out later this year via Basick Records). The single is also the band’s first release with new singer Joe Rosser.

Comments new vocalist Rosser, “It’s been great to bond with a group of musicians with the same sort of outlook on music as me. I think the moment we shared ideas we gelled together really well. Not only that but the fact that they are such great people to be around, we have become good friends. Working on the single has been so much fun. From laying down ideas to progressing it to a full length song, it more or less took its course and the rest of the bend felt what I added gave it a better twist than they anticipated. Recording the video was insane. Lack of sleep, lots of energy drinks and a huge office block with a DIY bedroom set…. It couldn’t have been more surreal! Ben Herbert who directed it was so sound to work with and brought out the best in the ideas we had for the visual aspect of it all. I’ve admired the band for some time and never thought I could match the standard, but it seems this time I proved myself wrong and I am looking forward to a progressive future with Aliases. It’s gonna be a blast!

You can watch the video below as well as download the song for free. READ MORE

Counting Crows And The Wallflowers Announce Summer Tour

Alright, so there is pretty much no way that I can relate this to horror off the top of my head. However, this tour is just way too awesome to not let you all know about. Counting Crows and The Wallflowers, both huge 90′s bands, have announced that they will be embarking on a 21-date N. American tour this summer. All tour dates can be seen below (I’ll be at the Rochester Hills show on July 4th, no doubt about it).

I’ve always loved listening to these two bands. The Wallflowers’ “One Headlight” is one of my favorite 90′s songs while Counting Crows’ “Colorblind” will always be one of the most beautiful songs I’ve heard. READ MORE

Fourth Annual Rockstar Uproar Festival To Be Headlined By Alice In Chains And Jane’s Addiction

Looks like the Rockstar Uproar Festival is getting a hefty dose of 90′s awesomeness as grunge legends Alice In Chains have been announced as the headlining act for the tour. Their direct support is 90′s rock giant Jane’s Addiction, whose 2011 album The Great Escape Artist is still something I play frequently (seriously, it’s a great album). Also on the main stage will be prog rockers Coheed And Cambria and Circa Survive.

I think it’s going to be a fun tour and we’re really looking forward to it. It’s only going to happen that one time, that way, and you’re going to be there,” says Jerry Cantrell of Alice In Chains.

The second stage will see performances from Middle Class Rut, Walking Papers, New Politics, Danko Jones, Chuck Shaffer Picture Show, and the local winner of the Ernie Ball Battle Of The Bands. All tour dates can be seen below. READ MORE

Muse Release Video For “Panic Station”

British al-rockers Muse have released a highly stylized video for “Panic Station”, which comes from their latest album The 2nd Law. Full of tights, Japanese suit monsters, old men in schoolgirl outfits, fur coats, and more, it’s definitely not a boring video. Give it a watch below.

However, I’m just burnt out on Muse. Hell, when I saw them a month or so ago I wanted the opener, Dead Sara, to play the whole set. I guess I miss the Muse of old, the Muse that felt dangerous. This Muse feels safe and limited. READ MORE

Zakk Wylde Unveils Signature…Burger?

Guitarist/singer Zakk Wylde has unveiled a signature hamburger entitled The Berzerker Burger. The hefty meat, cheese, bacon, and more burger features a skull branded into the top bun and it actually looks pretty damn delicious. It also looks like something that would give me a mild heart attack were I to eat a whole one. That being said, I love me a good burger, so the next time I visit Los Angeles, I’m grabbing one.

The Berzerker Burger is available at Grill ‘Em All in Alhambra, CA. Head one below to see a video of the unveiling day. READ MORE

Daft Punk’s “Get Lucky” Gets The Michael Jackson Treatment

The new Daft Punk album Random Access Memories is perhaps one of the most anticipated upcoming albums amongst many of my friends. After all, it’s been eight years since their last album, 2005′s Human After All. With the release of their new single “Get Lucky”, which features Pharrell Williams, I’ve seen my social networks blow up and the song posted what feels like every five minutes. Admittedly it’s a really catchy song, so I can’t really complain.

However, YouTube user Maim Ixed found out something a little interesting. By pitch shifting the song up, adding in some “Shamonas”, “Hee-hee’s”, and more, the song sounds like it could’ve been a brand new Michael Jackson single. It’s actually a really convincing edit. Head on below to hear the original as well as the Michael Jackson-remix. READ MORE

30 Seconds To Mars Release Video For “Up In The Air”

Alt rockers 30 Seconds To Mars have released a lengthy music video for their new single “Up In The Air”. Directed by Bartholomew Cubbins, the video features a vast array of images and scenes, some surreal and eerie while others are artistically engrossing. The clip also features burlesque icon Dita Von Teese and Olympic gymnast McKayla Maroney as well as a slew of other guests. While I don’t see much of an underlying message here, it’s still a visually engaging clip. You can check it out below.

Well, My Heart Is Broken: Porcupine Tree Officially On Hold

Yup, my heart is officially crushed. In an interview with Something Else Reviews, Steven Wilson has stated that he is focusing on his solo project as of now and that this leaves no time for his other projects, including Blackfield and Porcupine Tree.

Regarding Blackfield, Wilson confirms that a fourth studio album is in the works, saying, “Blackfield has made a new record, though I’m not as involved with it as much as I once was — for reasons which are obvious and apparent. Aviv, my partner in Blackfield, wrote all of the songs on this new record, but I still helped him to produce and record the album, and I sung on a few songs. They have some other great guest singers that have come in and sang on some of the other songs, too. So, Blackfield is certainly moving forward. The last thing I want to be doing is holding other people back.

Twisted Music Video Of The Week Vol. 81: Rivulets “How, Who”

A huge joy for me is when readers send me interesting things to check out via twitter or email. Seeing what you readers are interested in musically/visually/whatever is really fascinating and definitely helps me speak to you on a daily basis.

And that’s why I so appreciated getting an email from director Adam Barnick, who sent me a link to “How, Who”, a video that he directed for minimalist acoustic artist Rivulets. It’s a somber, haunting video that shot is shot in black and white and plays out almost like a poem. While turning a Civil War-era burial into a music video might seem like a difficult thing to keep people interested in, Barnick uses fantastic edits, fascinating shots and angles, and moody lighting to create a riveting video. Give it a watch below and let Adam know your thoughts in the comments! READ MORE
