Today publisher IDW announced plans to bring fan favorite “TRUEBLOOD” back for more monthly installments into the coming year with a second story arc in the series based upon the award winning HBO television show and popular New York Times best selling novels by Charlaine Harris. Below you can get all the details on the series thus far as well as some advance cover art.
“Actor Michael McMillian, who plays Fellowship of the Sun leader Reverend Steve Newlin, will co-author the new six-issue arc with Marc Andreyko.
“Co-writing the True Blood comic is a dream come true both as a performer on the show and as longtime comic fan. It’s a real privilege to build on the rapidly growing True Blood mythology,” McMillian said.
Here’s how IDW describes the next arc:
“Jessica is exposed to contaminated bottles of Tru Blood, causing the lovely vampire to go berserk. It’s up to Sookie, Bill and the others to figure out who (or what) is behind the bad Blood.”
In addition to Jessica, several other Bon Temp residents are making their comic book debut including Hoyt, Terry, Arlene and Steve Newlin.
Joe Corroney provides the art, with covers by J. Scott Campbell.
“Marc and I are working hard to make sure the series feels like an extension of the show,” McMillan said. “True Blood fans should expect lots of action, gore, sex, humor and of course, awesome cliffhangers!”
