Dark Souls Gets New Screens & A Release Window

Only two years ago we were given Demon’s Souls, a dark fantasy RPG that was as unforgiving as it was beautiful and unique. Unfortunately, it’s steep learning curve and incredibly tough difficulty kept the game from being a hit, despite some very impressive reviews. Demon’s Souls was one of my favorite games of 2009 so when a spiritual successor dubbed Dark Souls was unveiled last year I was a little excited.

Since its trailer debut screenshots have been steadily trickling out proving that even though it’s not being referred to as a sequel, Dark Souls is still very much like its predecessor. Also unlike Demon’s Souls this won’t be exclusive to the PS3. I’m sure this is good news for anyone scorned by the ongoing PSN network difficulties that still have no end in sight. Dark Souls releases in October.
