The game I’ve been foaming at the mouth for since 2005, the title I said could redefine the horror genre is a little less than a week away from jumping into my bosom. The more I see of Shadows of the Damned the less I can consider it a real horror title, instead I’d compare it to a punk rock hipster with a mean ‘tude and a tendency for brutal murder. At the very least the game has some of my favorite people behind it, including Goichi Suda (No More Heroes), Shinji Mikami (Resident Evil), and Akira Yamaoka (Silent Hill composer), so I have serious doubts that this game will be anything less than good fun. The following video looks pretty good – I’ve never been a fan of birds, all flying high like they’re better than everyone else.
That machine gun with the tendrils looks like it’ll be my one of my favorites, if only so I can bust down a door leading to a group of unsuspecting monsters before exclaiming loudly, “Say ‘ello to my lil frien’!” and tearing their shit up with my badass machine gun. Yeah, this game is going to rock. Shadows of the Damned releases on June 21st, and good thing too, because I don’t know how much longer I can wait.
