Love it or hate it (I loved it), there’s no denying how spectacularly bizarre Deadly Premonition is. The mind behind the game, a man known as Swery65, has announced that he and his team are currently at work on a new title. Their new project doesn’t yet have a publisher but after the surprising success of Deadly Premonition, I don’t picture them having too much trouble getting someone to sign on to whatever it is their working on now. There’s even a slight chance this yet to be revealed game could be a sequel to one of the strangest games I’ve ever had the pleasure of playing.
While discussing the new project Swery65 said he’ll “work until it kills him” on “something really good.” I’d say one of Deadly Premonition’s biggest flaws was how unpolished it was. The game had some lofty goals, creating an open world game with Resident Evil 4 style controls and investigative elements. Unfortunately, much of the game was plagued with horrible driving, tank-like controls, and PS2 quality visuals. Luckily, all of these can be remedied with more money. Now I really shouldn’t get ahead of myself since we don’t know what the game is, but I’d very much like to see what a potential Deadly Premonition 2 would look like. Would you?
