Xbox Live’s annual Summer of Arcade is almost upon us with the first game, the action RPG Bastion, ready to kick start this shindig on July 20th. Last year brought us fantastic games like the gloomy puzzle platformer Limbo and Tomb Raider: Guardian of the Light and this year shaping up to be even better. Like last year we have five very different arcade games, ranging from god sims to strategy games, so there’s bound to be something for every type of gamer.
Last year’s reward for purchasing every game under the Summer of Arcade banner was a bundle of Microsoft Points, but this year thing’s are being handled a little differently. Now, if you buy every game you’ll get Crimson Alliance for free when it releases in September. It’s essentially Torchlight with four player co-op, so if that’s your thing and you have $70 to spare on five arcade games, it’s a pretty worthy bonus. Head past the jump for the full list of games, their prices, and what they’re all about. Bastion (July 20 – 1200 Microsoft Points)
Take control of a character known as The Kid, who is thrust into a world that has literally collapsed around him. He must now construct a safe haven and build a new world from the remnants of the past. The game features lush and imaginative artwork as well as an innovative reaction system that responds to your actions in real time throughout the adventure.
