Trick ‘r Treat Director is ‘Dead @ 17’

While Michael Dougherty’s next project is a like a 50’s sci-fi/horror film, the Trick ‘r Treat director will be returning to his horror roots soon enough. Dougherty is currently adapting Viper Comic’s Dead @ 17 with plans on turning the comic into a live-action feature film, creator Josh Howard tells Comics on Comics. In the book Nara Kilday is killed, and finds herself mysteriously revived. She discovers she has to prevent the coming of Bolabogg, a demonic lord. This series also introduces Hazy Foss, her best friend, and Elijah, a friend of the two girls who Nara has a crush on. The mysterious Noel appears, who helps the three fight hordes of undead and other monstrosities. Nara banishes Bolabogg back to his realm.
