Almost exactly one year ago it was reported that a fire had destroyed one of the oldest attractions at the Universal Studios in Hollywood. A mishap on a commercial shooting on the backlot had set ablaze the infamous “King Kong” attraction, which was part of the studio tour ride. To the dismay of loyal historians (like me!), it was rumored that a Transformers attraction would replace it. Fear not, Kong is back and in 3-D!
King Kong, among the screen’s most powerful and enduring icons, will re-emerge on the famed and newly upgraded Universal Studios Hollywood Studio Tour in summer, 2010 as a thrilling and ground-breaking 4-D multi-sensory marvel, a new signature attraction for Universal Studios Hollywood.
