TRUE BLOOD HAS SERIOUS BITE
HBO’s “True Blood” is the ratings phenomenon of the summer.
Having nearly every episode of a scripted drama post a series-high rating just doesn’t happen these days (especially in a program’s second season).
Sunday night’s “True Blood” was seen by 4.5 million viewers, up from last week’s record high of 4.4 million. In cume, “True Blood” is averaging 11.4 million viewers per episode (by unfair comparison, original broadcast shows this summer are averaging about 5.5 million viewers for their debut episodes). “Hung” and “Entourage” both averaged 2.8 million.

GRACE TWEETS
To help promote the September 15 DVD/Blu-ray release of Paul Solet’s Grace, Anchor Bay/Starz have been “tweeting” on behalf of several characters as a buildup timeline to the start of the movie. In addition, they have created a faux website for the “naturebirth” center that contains a number of hidden foreshadows and tricks that tie into the movie.
Twitter handles can be found at @gracemommy, @gracedaddy and @naturebirth
GRACE revolves around Madeline Matheson, an eight months pregnant woman who is determined to deliver her unborn child, Grace, naturally. When an accident leaves Grace dead inside her, Madeline insists on carrying the baby to term. Weeks later, when Madeline delivers naturally, the child miraculously returns to life…

Julia Garner Joins Horror Movie ‘Weapons’ from the Director of ‘Barbarian’
In addition to Leigh Whannell’s upcoming Universal Monsters movie Wolf Man, Julia Garner (The Royal Hotel) has also joined the cast of Weapons, THR has announced tonight.
Weapons is the new horror movie from New Line Cinema and director Zach Cregger (Barbarian), with Julia Garner joining the previously announced Josh Brolin (Dune 2).
The upcoming Weapons is from writer/director Zach Cregger, who will also produce alongside his Barbarian producing team: Roy Lee of Vertigo and J.D. Lifshitz and Raphael Margules of BoulderLight Pictures. Vertigo’s Miri Yoon also produces.
The Hollywood Reporter teases, “Plot details for Weapons are being kept holstered but it is described as a multi and inter-related story horror epic that tonally is in the vein of Magnolia, the 1999 actor-crammed showcase from filmmaker Paul Thomas Anderson.”
Cregger was a founding member and writer for the New York comedy troupe “The Whitest Kids U’Know,” which he started while attending The School of Visual Arts. The award-winning group’s self-titled sketch comedy show ran for five seasons on IFC-TV and Fuse. He was also a series regular on Jimmy Fallon’s NBC series “Guys with Kids” and the TBS hit series “Wrecked,” and was featured in a recurring role on the NBC series “About a Boy.”
Weapons will be distributed worldwide by Warner Bros. Pictures.
