Horror Kills at the Weekend Box Office: Who Won the Battle of Death vs Myers?

The numbers are in and Death has officially beat the living crap out of Michael Myers as The Final Destination took the top spot at the weekend box office with an estimated $28,335,000. Rob Zombie’s Halloween II was even beat by Quentin Tarantino’s Inglorius Basterds taking in an estimated $17,405,000 for the #3 spot at the box office. What’s impressive is that horror accounted for nearly $45m at the box office showing just how powerful our genre is. Too bad two R-rated movies had to go head-to-head and split the take.
