Lionsgate Announces ‘Saw VI’ DVD and Blu-ray

Published

on

The next bone chilling installment of the most popular horror film franchise in history comes to DVD and Blu-ray Disc this January with the release of Saw VI. The film will be available in three different versions – an R-rated Theatrical Full Screen Edition, an Unrated Director’s cut Widescreen Edition and an Unrated Director’s cut Blu-ray Disc – and as a digital download. All three versions are a “2-Movie Set” that includes the first original SAW feature film so viewers can see “where it all began.” All three versions also contain fabulously frightening bonus materials including three featurettes that take a look at Jigsaw, the traps and an exclusive look at the Halloween Horror Nights SAW Maze plus music videos. In addition, the unrated DVD and Blu-ray Disc feature two audio commentaries with the executive producers and the screenwriters of the film.
The SAW film series has managed to ratchet up tension and invention with each successive film, while jangling millions of nerves worldwide. Surpassing Freddie and Jason, the SAW series is now the most profitable horror franchise, both theatrically and on DVD, in movie history, taking in over $500 million in worldwide box office and sales exceeding 23 million units on DVD. In the sixth installment, Special Agent Strahm is dead, and Detective Hoffman has emerged as the unchallenged successor to Jigsaw’s legacy. However, when the FBI draws closer to Hoffman, he is forced to set a game into motion, and Jigsaw’s grand scheme is finally understood.

The teenagers soon understand what evil they’ve released as they are overcome with an assortment of horrific experiences. With fiendish followers invading suburbia, it’s now up to the kids to discover the secret that can lock The Gate forever . . . if it’s not too late.
