We’ve got some news behind-the-scenes images, along with a quick debunk as Just Jared was reporting Sacha Baron Cohen was starring in John Landis’ Burke & Hare, a new horror comedy from the director of An American Werewolf in London now filming Edinburgh. Star Simon Pegg debunked these rumors comically via Twitter throughout the day. “Today, The Sun newspaper mistakes French cinema wunderkind Romain Gravas for Sasha Baron Cohen. Talk about a high brow gaff!! (wipes eyes),” he jokes. “Wait! I cocked up, it’s GAVRAS!!! D’oh! Am I going to look like a mug at the Paris film festival. (more eye wiping and champagne).” Lastly, “To be fair Isla Fisher did a huge double take.” Pegg stars alongside Andy Serkis as the title characters.
“Burke & Hare is a comedic take on the true story of the 1828 Edinburgh body-snatchers William Burke (Simon Pegg) and William Hare (Andy Serkis). These two Irish entrepreneurs discover that a dead body can fetch a hefty price when the demands of the leading medical professors Dr. Knox (Tom Wilkinson) and Dr. Monroe (Tim Curry) reach beyond that of the local supply.”
