Vertigo (who brought us The Children) is brilliantly toying with us. Having never officially announced Gareth Edwards’ Monsters, the film was revealed to be part of this coming weekend’s SXSW Film Festival with literally no information other than the following synopsis: “Six years after a NASA probe crashes, bringing alien life forms to Earth, a journalist agrees to escort a shaken tourist through an infected zone in Mexico to the safety of the US border.” After that, we got a small tease of “the infected zone” via the first image. Now, below you’ll find the first footage that teases what could be a new ginormous monster. The suspense is killing me!
The film is part of SXSW’s SX Fantastic lineup, programmed by Fantastic Fest. You’ll find even more SXSW coverage over at Corey Mitchell’s festival blog exclusively here on BD.
