Rob Zombie Updates Movie Making Status, Talks New Tour

Published

on

Right now, Rob Zombie is gearing up for the Gruesome Twosome tour with the godfather of horror rock Alice Cooper. Zombie is armed, to the teeth, with metal’s most important drummer, Joey Jordison [Slipknot, Murderdolls], and they’ll be tearing through a set of White Zombie and solo classics as well as cuts from Hellbilly Deluxe 2. With this summer’s Mayhem Festival with Korn on the horizon, Mr. Zombie hasn’t had too much time to choose a new film project, unfortunately.
I don’t know what the next movie is…I’ve got four or five projects I’m so scattered between.

In an exclusive interview today with Bloody-Disgusting.com’s Rick Florino (www.bookofdolor.com), Zombie said, “I haven’t started pre-production on anything. I can’t really do pre-production on a movie until I’m 100 percent free to do that. The tour is about the tour. About the only thing that I can do on a tour that’s movie related is work on a script when there’s down time, but that’s it. So that’s probably what I’ll be doing. I don’t know what the next movie is [Laughs]–which is kind of driving me crazy. I’m not really sure what to focus my attention on at the moment, I’ve got four or five different projects that I’m so scattered between.

However, he can’t wait to get on the road and start blasting out the new songs for hungry audiences everywhere, especially with Joey’s air-raid percussive firestorm at his disposal…

We’re very excited to play this record live,” Zombie went on to say. “We love touring, and that’s the main thing. The band gets along spectacularly and we’re just dying to play these songs. We’ve been rehearsing to death too. It’s kind of nuts because we are more prepared than ever.

Hopefully, the run with Korn slays just as much as it dead back in 1999 when they ripped America up on Rock is Dead. But, then again, will anything compare to White Zombie and Pantera’s War of the Gargantuas in 1996? Ahhh, those were the days…
