Without having to ask fans for a donation, writer-director Kevin Smith looks to have locked down his financing for his horror thriller Red State, a source confirms to Bloody Disgusting. Casting is officially underway with shooting scheduled for August in Los Angeles. The flick follows a group of misfits (lead by “Travis”) who encounter fundamentalism gone to the extreme in Middle America. More details soon.
