‘Splice’ Insanity Comes Home on October 5!
Warner Home Video has announced DVD ($28.98) and Blu-ray ($35.99) releases of Splice (review), which stars Adrien Brody, Sarah Polley, and Delphine Chaneac. DVD Active reports that each will be available to own October 5th. The only extra material on the DVD will be A Director’s Playground: Vicenzo Natali on the Set of Splice featurette. The Blu-ray release will include that, along with a digital copy. This joins several other horror titles arriving on Blu-ray the same date. Superstar genetic engineers Clive (Adrien Brody) and Elsa (Sarah Polley) specialize in splicing together DNA from different animals to create incredible new hybrids. Now they secretly conduct their own experiments. The result is Dren, an amazing, strangely beautiful creature that exceeds their wildest dreams, until she threatens to become their worst nightmare.

When best friends Glen (Stephen Dorff) and Terry (Louis Tripp) stumble across a mysterious crystalline rock in Glen’s backyard, they quickly dig up the newly sodden lawn searching for more precious stones. Instead, they unearth The Gate — an underground chamber of terrifying demonic evil. The teenagers soon understand what evil they’ve released as they are overcome with an assortment of horrific experiences. With fiendish followers invading suburbia, it’s now up to the kids to discover the secret that can lock The Gate forever . . . if it’s not too late.
If you’ve never seen The Gate, it’s now streaming on Prime Video and Tubi.
