‘Manson, My Name is Evil’ Arriving on DVD This October

Cheerleader. Prom Queen. Manson Girl. Taking horror fans into the mind of a follower of a real-life serial killer, Manson, My Name is Evil (formerly Leslie, My Name is Evil), makes its American DVD debut October 12 from Lionsgate. An Official Selection of the 2009 Toronto International Film Festival, the film has been hailed as “close to perfection” in recapturing the horror of the murderer whose deeds coined the term ‘serial killing.’ The film stars Kristen Hager (TV’s “Valemont”), Gregory Smith (TV’s “Everwood”) and Ryan Robbins (TV’s “Caprica”). Charles Manson’s lust for blood left not only a trail of victims across Los Angeles, but also his minion’s lives shattered. Leslie (Hager), a former cheerleader and prom queen, is one such follower of the serial killer. During her murder trial, one of the jury members, Perry (Smith), a sheltered chemical engineer, finds himself falling in love with the dangerous woman charged.

Horror movie fanatic who co-founded Bloody Disgusting in 2001. Producer on Southbound, V/H/S/2/3/94, SiREN, Under the Bed, and A Horrible Way to Die. Chicago-based. Horror, pizza and basketball connoisseur. Taco Bell daily. Franchise favs: Hellraiser, Child's Play, A Nightmare on Elm Street, Halloween, Scream and Friday the 13th. Horror 365 days a year.

When best friends Glen (Stephen Dorff) and Terry (Louis Tripp) stumble across a mysterious crystalline rock in Glen’s backyard, they quickly dig up the newly sodden lawn searching for more precious stones. Instead, they unearth The Gate — an underground chamber of terrifying demonic evil. The teenagers soon understand what evil they’ve released as they are overcome with an assortment of horrific experiences. With fiendish followers invading suburbia, it’s now up to the kids to discover the secret that can lock The Gate forever . . . if it’s not too late.

If you’ve never seen The Gate, it’s now streaming on Prime Video and Tubi.
