You stick Guillermo del Toro’s name on anything and I’ll be there. It could be a Barbie movie or even a sequel to Glitter — I’d see it. Hence the excitement for Troy Nixey’s Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark, the Miramax redo starring Katie Holmes, Guy Pearce, Bailee Madison, and Jack Thompson. Although the geek population tends to be a little biased when it comes to Del Toro, I still find myself consumed in the buzz that the San Diego Comic-Con footage was “absolutely frightening”.
