I know studios like to stand their ground and stick to their guns, but damned if it doesn’t hurt everyone around them when the box office take is split. Universal Pictures has done “the right thing” (well, in my opinion) by moving Wes Craven’s My Soul to Take to an October 8th release, thus avoiding a head on collision with Paranormal Activity 2 and Saw 3D. The post-converted 3-D thriller will now take on Anchor Bay’s limited unrated release of I Spit on Your Grave, along with Hammer/Overture Films’ Let Me In in its second week of release. This October is looking damn good I tell ya’!
