Mel Gibson Drafted For ‘Machete Kills’

I know we just posted a Machete Kills story about an hour ago, but this is totally worth its own piece.

Even though Mel Gibson is one of the biggest turds in Hollywood history, the psychopath is one hell of an actor (maybe the madness spawns the brilliance?). Thus, having him return to his action-packed roots is nothing short of exhilarating. Deadline reports that Gibson is now in serious discussions to play a supporting role in Machete Kills, the Robert Rodriguez-directed sequel that will bring Danny Trejo back as the blade wielding former Federale title character. Jessica Alba and Michelle Rodriguez are still in talks to return as well.

The 2010 film starred Danny Trejo as Machete, a Mexican ex-Federale with a gift for wielding a blade, who hides out as a day laborer, and is double-crossed by a corrupt state senator. In the sequel to be released by Fox, “Machete is drafted by the US government to track an arms dealer through Mexico before he can launch a rocket.

This is weak. I don’t care if it’s intended to be controversial, kitschy, whatever … this guy’s a jumbo-sized douche and doesn’t deserve to be getting roles, especially in a cool movie.

Seriously his actual shitty life should have no bearing on his acting career or directing career. I dont care for his politics and racism but he has made brilliant films. So I ignore his personality and enjoy his films.

I have always enjoyed Mel Gibson as an actor and don’t care what he does on his own time. He’s made some of the best movies Braveheart, Ransom, Lethal Weapon, etc. Stoked he will be in this.

  • I actually think this is pretty bad ass. I cannot wait!

  • Mel Gibson is awesome in whatever he does, I don’t care what he does in his personal life. Most of the time the media only presents one side of the story. The last rant was well deserved, the dude was supposed to write a script and he didn’t which understandably pissed him off. I’m also sure we all have used words in anger that we have not meant to say. Everyone is so quick to judge.

Mel Gibson is actually a good actor and i like a lot of his movies that has directed as well. Despite his “controversy”, I ignore his personal life and just enjoy his movies.

i too think his being in this is pretty cool!

Mel Gibson maybe a crazy son of a bitch. But at least he understands plot structure.

Funny how one can be a complete “cunt” but if he or she is a movie/rock/sports star they are rarely held to account and all excuses under the sun are made. Just because they are entertaining in a pretend world and a douche bag in the real world. Of course if a friend behaves like douche bag star to someone or to one’s family, then all hell breaks loose. But if its to other people, MEH.

YES! I’d love the living hell out of that!

He should play Padre’s friend the rabbi. On a serious note though, this sounds pretty cool.

Never saw the first one, but this sounds interesting. On a side note, every time Mel Gibson’s name is brought up, the first thought I always have is the South Park episode, ‘The Passion of the Jew’.
