‘Captain America’ Star Joins Summit’s Revenge-Thriller ‘Gone’

Captain America and The Apparition star Sebastian Stan and Australian thesp Socratis Otto have joined the cast of Summit Entertainment’s thriller Gone.

As previously announced, Amanda Seyfried stars alongside Jennifer Carpenter, Wes Bentley and Emily Wickerhsham.

Lakeshore Entertainment and Sidney Kimmel Entertainment are teaming to produce the pic, which Heitor Dhalia will direct from a script by Allison Burnett.

The thriller revolves around a young woman named Jill (Seyfried) who returns home from her night shift to find her sister’s bed empty. She’s convinced the serial killer who kidnapped her two years before has come back to finish the job. But the police do not believe Jill, who knows time is running out. With no one to turn to, she sets off to find her sister and face her abductor once and for all.

Production is scheduled to start next month.

‘Drop’ – Violett Beane Joins the Cast of Christopher Landon’s New Thriller

Christopher Landon (Happy Death Day, Freaky) is staying busy here in 2024, directing not only the werewolf movie Big Bad but also an upcoming thriller titled Drop.

The project for Blumhouse and Platinum Dunes is being described as a “fast-paced thriller,” and Deadline reports today that Violett Beane (Truth or Dare) has joined the cast.

Newcomer Jacob Robinson has also signed on to star in the mysterious thriller. Previously announced, Meghann Fahy (“White Lotus”) will be leading the cast.

Landon recently teased on Twitter, “This is my love letter to DePalma.”

Jillian Jacobs and Chris Roach wrote the script.

Michael Bay, Jason Blum, Brad Fuller and Cameron Fuller — “who brought the script in to Platinum Dunes” — are producing the upcoming Drop. Sam Lerner is an executive producer.

THR notes, “The film is a Platinum Dunes and Blumhouse production for Universal.”
