Jagermeister-Inspired Art for ‘Backmask’
First announced back in May was that Conan the Barbarian, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Friday the 13th director Marcus Nispel would be putting a backwards spin on horror with Backmask, which will be produced by Steven Schneider (Paranormal Activity, Insidious, The Lords of Salem, The Bay).
Some new sales art was discovered that mixes the logo in with my drink of choice, Jagermeister. Take a sip inside.
“During a sex, drugs, and rock-fueled party, six small-town teenagers find an old vintage record and decide to play it backwards in order to listen for any subliminal/satanic messages. Lo and behold, a seemingly malevolent spirit quickly infiltrates the group, wreaking havoc as it moves from one body to another. Eventually, however, it’s revealed that the spirit in question is actually trying to convey a message….and that the real source of horror isn’t particularly paranormal, but rather something (or someone) much closer to home.”
Principal photography begins on July 13.

‘In a Violent Nature’ Gets Official VHS Release With Standard Edition and Book Box Edition
While we wait for the sequel, the fan favorite slasher movie In a Violent Nature is back this week with a brand new VHS release from Broke Horror Fan and Witter Entertainment.
An official partnership with Shudder, In a Violent Nature is now available on limited edition fully functional VHS, with a Standard Edition and a special Book Box Edition.
Witter previews, “The 2024 Shudder Original slasher arrives on VHS with two variants: A standard slipcase with art by The Boland Design Company, and a book box edition with art by Gary Pullin + a gatefold cover and green VHS tape! Book boxes are limited to 200.”
Each tape includes exclusive introductions from director Chris Nash and cast. And a behind-the-scenes featurette is even included, which will play after the feature itself.
For optimal VHS viewing, the film is presented in its original 4:3 full frame aspect ratio.
