There’s Nothing Scary In These Hi-Res ‘Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark’ Stills

FilmDistrict’s Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark, the Guillermo del Toro-produced redo of the 1973 made for TV flick, is closing the Los Angeles Film Festival this coming Sunday before arriving in theaters August 26. While both posters were remarkable, and the pair of trailers released induced chills down my spine, I find the hi-res images release beyond lackluster. The set design looks astounding, but how about giving us something with a little bang? Eh? Anyways, click the below image for the full gallery.

Directed by Troy Nixey for release August 26, the pic “follows Sally (Bailee Madison), a young girl who moves to Rhode Island to live with her father (Guy Pearce) and his new girlfriend (Katie Holmes) in the 19th-century mansion they are restoring. While exploring the house, Sally starts to hear voices coming from creatures in the basement whose hidden agenda is to claim her as one of their own.

Keep your eyes on the official website and Facebook for more soon.
