Sony Pictures Home Entertainment will release [REC] 2 (review), the horrifying sequel to the international smash hit that inspired the film Quarantine, on DVD July 12, 2011 (that’s today!) If the several previously released clips don’t whet your palette, inside you’ll find an exclusive red band clip.
After terrifying audiences with their nerve-shredding cult hit [REC], acclaimed filmmaker Jaume Balagueró (Darkness; Fragile) and writer/filmmaker Paco Plaza (Quarantine, Romasanta: The Werewolf Hunter) return to crank the fear factor to unprecedented levels in [REC] 2, a rare sequel that actually improves on its predecessor and exceeds all expectations.
Available for $26.99, the [REC] 2 DVD will include deleted and extended scenes, behind the scenes featurettes, a walkthrough of the set, as well as REC 2 on Tour and Sitges Film Festival featurettes.
“The highly anticipated sequel to one of the scariest films of all time, [REC] 2 picks up 15 minutes from where we left off, taking us back into the quarantined apartment building where a terrifying virus runs rampant. What they find inside lies beyond the scope of medical science – a demonic nightmare more terrifying than they could possibly imagine.”
