Remember when studios used to make sweet official websites, instead of being crazy lazy and dumping everything on Facebook? FilmDistrict put some love in their official website for Troy Nixey’s Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark (review), the Guillermo del Toro-produced redo of the 1973 made for TV flick that’s arriving in theaters August 26. On the site, surprises and terror lurk behind every click as you explore Blackwood Manor. In addition, they’ve finally provided us with some “cooler” imagery, which can be enjoyed in our updated gallery.
“The pic follows Sally (Bailee Madison), a young girl who moves to Rhode Island to live with her father (Guy Pearce) and his new girlfriend (Katie Holmes) in the 19th-century mansion they are restoring. While exploring the house, Sally starts to hear voices coming from creatures in the basement whose hidden agenda is to claim her as one of their own.”
