Forest Whitaker Pins Into Voodoo-themed ‘Vipaka’

Published

Voodoo and horror mix well together. You’ve got the awesome scene in the second Children of the Corn. And there’s Wes Craven’s Serpant and the Rainbow, one of the my all time favorite horror films. Chucky has even made a killing wth his voodoo-themed slasher Child’s Play. Even the 2005 Skeleton Key is pretty badass.

Forest Whitaker is hoping to pin some needles into your wallets with the voodoo-themed Vipaka, producing and starring in the psychological thriller alongside Anthony Mackie (Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter), reports Variety.

Sanaa Lathan (Contagion) also co-stars in the elevated genre pic, which follows two adversaries who go head-to-head in a game that will test each man’s belief in what they’re certain is the truth.

Whitaker and Nina Yang are producing through his Significant Prods. banner, while French/Lebanese helmer Philippe Caland (Boxing Helena) is directing.
