Work Begins on ‘[REC] 4 Apocalypse’

I’m a little surprised that Filmax’s [REC] 3: Genesis isn’t premiering at the forthcoming TIFF, but it’s quite possible that the film just won’t be done in time. Still, while the Paco Plaza-directed sequel is in post production, Jaume Balagueró is already in pre-production on [REC] 4 Apocalypse, the final installment in the zombie/possession franchise that took cinema verite to an entirely new level.

Via Twitter Balagueró explained, “Launched the screenplay of REC Apocalypse. Blood will run, I fear.” Further adding, “First track REC 4: lots of red, of course, but also blue. # forgiveness?

The only details are that this new film will bring the [REC] saga to its end.
