TV: “American Horror Story” TV Spot Shows What The Show Will Actually Look Like

Published

on

Up until now we’ve seen some creepy key art and some highly stylized promo reels from “American Horror Story”, but not much that gives an indication of the show’s actual tone. That changes now with a short TV spot that introduces us to the Harmons as they consider buying their new house.

“American Horror Story”, co-created by former “Nip/Tuck” executive producers and current “Glee” co-creators/executive producers Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk, revolves around the Harmons, a family of three who move from Boston to Los Angeles as a means to reconcile past anguish.

The all star cast features Dylan McDermott (“The Practice”) as “Ben Harmon,” a psychiatrist; Connie Britton (“Friday Night Lights”) as “Vivien Harmon,” Ben’s wife; Taissa Farmiga as “Violet,” the Harmons’ teenage daughter; Jessica Lange (Tootsie, Blue Sky, Grey Gardens) in her first-ever regular series TV role as “Constance,” the Harmons’ neighbor; Evan Peters (“One Tree Hill”) plays “Tate Langdon,” one of Ben’s patients; and Denis O’Hare (“The Good Wife”) as “Larry Harvey.” Guest stars for the series include Frances Conroy (“Six Feet Under”) as the Harmons’ housekeeper; Alexandra Breckenridge (“Dirt”) as the Harmons’ housekeeper; and Jamie Brewer as Constance’s daughter.

The show premieres on FX October 5th. Hit the jump for the clip.

*EDIT – Now included are three nearly identical (but not quite) 11 second teasers

Filming is underway on The Invisible Man director Leigh Whannell’s Wolf Man for Universal and Blumhouse, which will be howling its way into theaters on January 17, 2025.

Deadline reports that Matilda Firth (Disenchanted) is the latest actor to sign on, joining Christopher Abbott (Poor Things),  Julia Garner (The Royal Hotel), and Sam Jaeger.

The project will mark Whannell’s second monster movie and fourth directing collaboration with Blumhouse Productions (The Invisible Man, Upgrade, Insidious: Chapter 3).

Wolf Man stars Christopher Abbott as a man whose family is being terrorized by a lethal predator.

Writers include Whannell & Corbett Tuck as well as Lauren Schuker Blum & Rebecca Angelo.

Jason Blum is producing the film. Ryan Gosling, Ken Kao, Bea Sequeira, Mel Turner and Whannell are executive producers. Wolf Man is a Blumhouse and Motel Movies production.

In the wake of the failed Dark Universe, Leigh Whannell’s The Invisible Man has been the only real success story for the Universal Monsters brand, which has been struggling with recent box office flops including the comedic Renfield and period horror movie The Last Voyage of the Demeter. Giving him the keys to the castle once more seems like a wise idea, to say the least.
