Twitch is reporting that Blake Lively has been offered the role of “Elizabeth Bennet” in the coming film version of Seth Grahame-Smith’s Pride And Prejudice And Zombies.
The site writes that director Craig Gillespie has met with the “Gossip Girl” star and she has been offered the lead role in the film. Casting the part hasn’t come easy. Emma Stone told them no. Natalie Portman told them no, despite already being a producer. Mia Wasikowska and Scarlett Johansoon have both been mentioned for the part, but neither of them are doing it either.
Lionsgate’s troubled project mixes Jane Austen’s 1813 classic novel “Pride and Prejudice,” centering on Elizabeth Bennet’s quest for love and independence amid the outbreak of a virus that turns the dead into zombies. The story’s set in an alternate version of 19th Century England that features deadly ancestors roaming the countryside.
