Bloody Disgusting recently caught up with Australian Wolf Creek and Rogue director Greg McLean who updated us on teo of his major projects now in development.
While he’s working on 6 Miranda Drive, low budget genre film, for Lionsgate, next up is the highly anticipated Wolf Creek 2.
“ ‘6 Miranda Drive’ will likely be made after ‘Wolf Creek 2’ next year,” explains McLean. “We shoot ‘WC2’ in Feb 2012 so gearing up to direct that picture now, it’s going to be a VERY intense ride of a movie!”
6 Miranda Drive is a supernatural thriller in the vein of Poltergesit about a family that unwittingly brings a supernatural force home with them from vacation. Feeding off their own fears, the evil presence threatens to destroy them from within as it takes over their lives and home, with terrifying results.
In Wolf Creek 2, while seeking an authentic Australian adventure, one unlucky backpacker learns the deepest, darkest secrets of the Outback’s most infamous serial killer (John Jarratt returns).
McLean is also working on releasing his first horror comic, which you can read about inside.
“[I’m] also releasing my first horror/action comic book through Diezelpunk, my new publishing company.
“ ‘Dark Axis – Secret Battles of WW2’ issue 1# comes out in 2 weeks across the states.
“We’ve had an amazing response to the teaser trailer we put together for this. It will be in in all good comic stores and is kinda like ‘Evil Dead 2’ meets ‘Saving Private Ryan’ so that’s been an awesome experience as a writer, but also as a massive comic nerd working with such amazing artists on the book.”
He Continues, “Plus, I’m completing post on a movie I Executive Produced through my genre company Wolf Creek Pictures — ‘Crawlspace’ by a super talented new director named Justin Dix. It’s a sci-fi horror movie that should be out next year.”
