Nobody Wants to Star in ‘Pride And Prejudice And Zombies’
Twitch, who reported an offer was made to the star, has now backtracked a bit stating that Blake Lively has rejected the lead part in the proposed big screen adaptation of Seth Grahame-Smith’s Pride And Prejudice And Zombies for Lionsgate.
Casting the part hasn’t come easy. Emma Stone told them no, as did Natalie Portman, despite already being a producer. Mia Wasikowska and Scarlett Johansoon have both been mentioned for the part, but neither of them are doing it either.
Lionsgate’s troubled project mixes Jane Austen’s 1813 classic novel “Pride and Prejudice,” centering on Elizabeth Bennet’s quest for love and independence amid the outbreak of a virus that turns the dead into zombies. The story’s set in an alternate version of 19th Century England that features deadly ancestors roaming the countryside.
