‘Red Dead Redemption’ Designer’s Apocalypse
Boss Media has come on board Wake Cycle, snapping up Christian Cantamessa and Chris Pasetto‘s post-apocalyptic sci-fi spec, reports Variety.
Cantamessa, lead designer and co-writer of the vidgame “Red Dead Redemption,” will direct.
“The pic takes place in an underground hyperbaric facility, where the world’s greatest scientists are placed after a nuclear fallout. “Wake Cycle” refers to the 90 minutes of available air every six months that allows two custodial workers to maintain the facility — but when one of their sleep tanks is damaged, they engage in a life-and-death struggle.”
Cantamessa has been working as a designer in the gaming industry since 1996 and has written and designed numerous games for Rockstar, including “Manhunt,” “Manhunt 2″ and “Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas.” Cantamessa and Pasetto co-wrote the indie film “How I Survived the Zombie Apocalypse.”
A partnership between Frank Mancuso Jr. and Eric Gores, Boss will fund production and begin casting immediately.
