‘The Dark Tower’ Gunslinger Still A Tentative Draw

And the back and forth game of expectations for The Dark Tower continues. Just last week producer Brian Grazer dropped a few hopeful remarks but now Ron Howard is here to manage expectations.

Mind you, he’s not putting the kibosh on the whole thing, but he doesn’t want you marking your calendar either.

Howard tells The Hollywood Reporter, “We are continuing to work on the script to find ways to make the budget more manageable and still deliver the work in a way that the project deserves. We were always racing and fast-tracking the project, so I always wince when I see something written about it and there’s a release date in there. These kinds of projects often take years to come together in the right ways. But I am in love with the material, and the minute it can come together in the right way, I am fully committed to it.

My take? I honestly believe all involved want this to happen. It just seems like it could go either way. Life is short, budgets are big and schedules are tight.
