AFM ’11: Meet ‘Stitches’ the Birthday Clown

Stitches

Fantastic Films and MPI Media Group (Hatchet II, Stakeland, The Innkeepers) along with the Irish Film Board have come on board horror comedy Stitches, directed by Conor McMahon.

McMahon is the writer-director of Disturbed, Dead Meat and the TV series ”Zombie Bashers.”

Principal photography will begin in late 2011 in Ireland. The cast includes Ross Noble and Tommy Knight of ”Doctor Who” and ”The Sarah Jane Adventures.”

The pic centers on Richard ”Stitches” Grindle, a jaded workaday kids’ birthday clown, whose one-liners are witty in a way that’s just not for kids. He falls victim to a fatal party mishahp at the hands of a group of particularly nasty children. Years later, the group of now teenagers attend a party at which Stitches is the uninvited guest of honor, returning to avenge his untimely death.
