Along The Tracks Productions’ Scalene will open in New York theaters this coming Friday. Click here to get tickets to the theatrical experience. It will be showing January 20-26 at the reRun Theater in Brooklyn. Stars Margo Martindale, Adam Scarimbolo, Producer Carlos Jimenez Flores, and director Zack Parker will be at the theater throughout the 20th and 21st for Q&As after the showings.
“The film is told from three points-of-view, and is best described as a perceptual thriller that revolves around a mother’s revenge after her mentally-challenged son is accused of a sexual assault by his student caretaker.” It stars Margo Martindale (currently Emmy Nominated for her arc on the F/X Series “Justified”, Showtime’s “Dexter”, Million Dollar Baby), Hanna Hall Rob Zombie’s Halloween), and Adam Scarimbolo (Stake Land). Scalene is filmmaker Zack Parker’s third feature, following Inexchange and Quench, and was the Winner of the Grand Jury Award for Best Feature at this year’s Los Angeles-based film festival Dances With Films.
“We are doing something different with the release of ‘Scalene’. I went the ‘traditional’ distribution route with my first two films, and though I’m pleased with the exposure they received, I feel there is a better way to go for most indie filmmakers today. The internet has opened everything up and the way audiences are finding films is changing on almost a daily basis. I want to give ‘Scalene’ time to find an audience, and at the same time, want to be able to adjust it’s release as platforms evolve. Like most independent filmmakers, I have controlled every aspect of the creation of this film from inception to completion. It just doesn’t make sense to me to turn over the reigns to someone else when it’s time to get it out into the world.”
