‘The Goon’ Hasn’t Moved An Inch
As much as I’d love to see Eric Powell’s The Goon adapted for the big screen, I’m frankly sick of hearing stories about it not happening. How about they stop jumping the gun with announcements and work on it behind closed doors, especially since Powell revealed the animated genre pic has NO FUNDING, and NEVER DID.
“Recently some sites have been saying the ‘Goon’ film has been nixed based on comments from Paul Giamatti saying he didn’t know where the film was at and we must have ran out of money,” said Powell on his blog. “Let me assure you we have not run out of money… because we never had any money to run out of.
It’s been a while since anyone spoke to Giamatti about the project and I guess he wasn’t kept in the loop as to what was going on. So zip up your fly, Internet. ‘The Goon’ is in the exact same position it’s been in for the past couple of years. Prepping the design and script while searching for funding.”
Good to know, maybe next time don’t jump the gun on an announcement? This isn’t even development hell, it’s worse.

‘Above & Below’ Trailer – Someone Put Antonio Banderas in a Generic Shark Attack Movie
Yet another brand new shark attack movie is on the way this Summer, with Aura Entertainment bringing director Jesse V. Johnson’s Above & Below to theaters on July 29.
Watch the official trailer for Above & Below… down below.
30 feet below. 10 minutes of oxygen. 1 apex predator.
In shark attack horror movie Above & Below, “Friends embark on a dream vacation of parties and diving, but their trip takes a terrifying turn when criminals attack them at sea.”
This one looks like every other shark movie that’s been released in the last several years, but it’s armed with something that puts it a fin above the competition. Oscar nominated actor Antonio Banderas stars in Above & Below, with the cast also including Christina Ochoa, Laura Marano, Timothy V. Murphy, Louis Mandylor, Jess Liaudin, Ryan Bertroche, Ramiro Alonso, Diego Llinás, Rodrigo Poisón, Mario Tardón, and Donncha Tynan.
Anthony Steven Giordano wrote the screenplay.
