TV: Giancarlo Esposito Starts “Revolution” With JJ Abrams

“Revolution” is casting up. The hour-long thriller penned by “Supernatural” creator Eric Kripke and exec produced by J.J. Abrams (Super 8, Let Me In) and Bryan Burk. The project is described as a “high-octane action drama that follows a group of characters struggling to survive and reunite with loved ones in a world where all forms of energy have mysteriously ceased to exist.

Now Giancarlo Esposito is onboard. Per Variety, “ he will play a southern lieutenant with an air of mystery in the drama about a group of characters struggling to survive in a world in which all energy has vanished.

Esposito wrapped up playing the ultimate bad guy Gus Fring last year on “Breaking Bad”, if he even brings 50% of that game to this role it’ll be worth it.

Jon Favreau (Iron Man, Cowboys And Aliens) has been tapped to direct the pilot.
