‘Piranha 3DD’ Opening Simultaneously On VOD, In Theaters

Piranha 3DD

In a fascinating LA Times article about the Weinsteins (that also quotes me out of context), the company reveals plans to release the hotly anticipated Piranha 3DD – the sequel top Alex Aja’s remake that reteams Feast director John Gulagar with writers Patrick Melton and Marcus Dunstan – simultaneously in theaters and via video-on-demand at a to-be-determined date. Check out the exciting new trailer inside.

They also reveal plans for a new low-budget, action-horror movie from the producer of Paranormal Activity and the director of Priest. The Scott Charles Stewart-directed Dark Skies will go into production this summer with financing from Canada’s Alliance Films.
