And the south gets two more. Deadline is reporting that Ana De La Reguera (“Eastbound And Down”; pictured above) and Amber Stevens (The Amazing Spider-Man; pictured below) have joined the cast of Jessabelle. Saw VI and Saw 3D director Kevin Greutert is directing the supernatural tale penned by Robert Ben Garant (“Reno 911!”). Blumhouse (The Lords of Salem, Insidious, Paranormal Activity) is teaming up with Lionsgate for the project.
Per Deadline, “Ana de la Reguera and Amber Stevens have joined the Lionsgate horror movie. Reguera will play a physical therapist. Stevens role is being kept under wraps.”
They join the previously announced leads Sarah Snook, Joelle Carter (“Justified”) and Mark Webber (Scott Pilgrim vs. the World). Snook will play the terrified protag, while Webber will play her childhood friend who helps her uncover the truth about her family. The film is “about a girl who is forced to return to her father’s home in Louisiana when a car accident leaves her without the use of both her legs. What she finds there is a mystery surrounding her own birth and an angry ghost (named Jessabelle) that seems determined to destroy her.”
The projected started filming on April 2nd and is one of at least three horror films currently shooting in beautiful Wilmington, N.C.
