Horror In Your House: April 30th, 2012

Not a very notable week of releases in the world of horror. But considering last week’s great haul it’s no biggy. There are, however a couple sets, including a nice Tim Burton Blu-ray pack and the Mimic series that might raise some interest for the budget conscious collector. Check out the rest of the releases below and have a great week. – Micah (365HorrorMovie)

MIMIC 3 Film Box Set (MIMIC 1, MIMIC 2, MIMIC 3) (Blu-ray) – Lions Gate

MIMIC From acclaimed director Guillermo del Toro (PAN’S LABYRINTH, HELLBOY) comes “a terrifying film of great elegance” (SAN FRANCISCO CHRONICLE).

MIMIC 2 Four years ago, a cockroach-spread plague threatened to decimate the child population of New York City. Then, research biologists developed a species of “Judas” bugs engineered to “mimic” and overrun the diseased roaches in their grubby habitat. The plan worked until the creatures evolved to mimic their next prey…humans!

MIMIC 3: SENTINEL The third and the scariest entry in the unstoppably suspenseful and terrifying MIMIC legacy! When residents of his apartment building begin to disappear, Marvin comes to believe the unthinkable: the mutant breed of giant carnivorous insects that once plagued society are back and beginning to revisit their devastation!

MICAH SAYS: Yeah, I pretty much never got into these mostly because they are uninteresting. Maybe it’s just me, but even the first one left me feeling like I should have done something better with my time. Like watch Species.

OPERATION: NAZI ZOMBIES – Brain Damage Films

A team of Army Special Forces is sent into a secluded, secret biological weapons facility, only to fall prey to the specimens of a Nazi experiment that was recreated by the Army Chemical Corps and the CIA after World War II. When the chain of command breaks, the soldiers find themselves trapped in a world of flesh eating zombies, Government assassins and the ultimate evil! One by one the hunters become the hunted in this action packed, blood soaked, zombie-rompin’ tale of the unholy terrors of biological warfare. It’s bound to keep you locked, loaded and looking around every corner!

THE TIM BURTON COLLECTION (Blu-ray) – Warner Films

MICAH SAYS: This set includes his Warner Bros films and yes I know it’s not really horror, but it’s close enough in a week of less than stellar releases.
