“Modern Family” star Sofia Vergara (pictured inside) is in talks to add yet more sizzle to the cast of Robert Rodriguez’s Machete Kills, which already features her fellow femme fatales Jessica Alba, Amber Heard and Michelle Rodriguez, reports Variety.

Danny Trejo returns to star in the 20th Century Fox-distributed pic alongside series newcomers Mel Gibson and Demian Bichir.

The sequel, which starts production this month finds the titular ex-federale (Trejo) recruited by the U.S. government to stop an arms dealer (Gibson) from launching a deadly missile. Heard will play a manipulative assassin code-named Miss San Antonio.

Vergara is in talks to play the leather-clad Madame Desdemona, whose Mexican harlots have information that Machete needs.

Robert Rodriguez has stated that he’ll like to solo-direct the sequel based on his faux trailer included in Dimension’s 2007 Grindhouse.
