Bloody Disgusting has exclusively learned that filming is officially underway on the third season of AMC’s “The Walking Dead.” While casting is still underway for forthcoming episodes, we have discovered that Guy Ferland is returning to direct a few episodes from scripts by series regular Evan Reilly.
Ferland, who directed episodes “TS-19,” “Chupacabra” and “Better Angels,” has also worked on such shows as “The Shield” and “Sons of Anarchy”. Reilly, who penned “Cherokee Rose,” “Nebraska” and “Better Angels”, wrote various episodes of “Rescue Me.”
The third season introduces British star David Morrissey as “The Governor” and Danai Gurira as “Michonne”, whom was teased in the season 2 finale.
The project is set among a group of zombie survivors of an apocalypse who are led by a police officer, Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln), in search of a safe place to live.
