Last week we reported on Predestination, a new thriller from Undead and Daybreakers directors the Spierig Brothers. Sinister star Ethan Hawke (pictured above) who starred in the Spierigs’ Daybreakers, is set to star in this “Riveting adventure through time with two detectives from a secret government time traveling agency designed to prevent future killers and terrorists from committing their crimes.”
Now Variety is reporting that, “Sony Pictures Worldwide Acquisitions has acquired domestic and select international rights to Michael and Peter Spierig’s sci-fi action-thriller ‘Predestination'” which will reunite the siblings with their “Daybreakers” star Ethan Hawke. The Spierig brothers wrote the original screenplay, which chronicles the life of a temporal government agent sent on an intricate series of time-travel journeys designed to stop future killers.”
Predestination is based on the classic Robert A. Heinlein short story “All You Zombies.” Ironically, it is not a zombie movie (perhaps something they wanted to clear up with the title change). The film will start shooting early next year in Australia.
